10TV: New Year's Babies

2017 is off to a great start for many families around central Ohio.

When the clock struck midnight at Doctors Hospital on West Broad Street in Columbus, Macy Wright was into her 28th hour of labor.  2 hours later, she and her husband welcomed their new son Aden.

"He's perfect", Wright told 10TV's Bryant Somerville.

The newest addition to the Wright family comes after the birth of Aden's two year old sister, also at Doctors Hospital.

"She is very excited about her little brother being born. She has had plenty of practice with her cousin," Wright said.

The first baby in central Ohio was born at 12:07 a.m in Columbus., then Aden came just before 2:30 a.m at Doctors Hospital. Riverside Methodist Hospital had its first birth around 2:30 a.m., followed by a new baby at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.

After 30 hours of labor, Wright said that she was very thankful for the number of nurses and staff members who spent time with them.

As the ball dropped on 2017, Macy said she didn't have much time to sit and watch, she was plenty busy, and focused!

"That's a heck of a way to bring in the new year' and I'm like 'You're not kidding'. It's definitely a heck of a new way," Wright told 10TV
