Columbus Dispatch: OhioHealth Doctor Goes Big On Social Media

Dr. Aaron Boster works on education through his social media channels

When you meet OhioHealth medical chief of neuroimmunology, Dr. Aaron Boster, it doesn't take long to know how passionate he is about what he does.

"I go to bed thinking about multiple sclerosis, and I wake up thinking about multiple sclerosis," Boster said.

For the 4 years, Dr. Boster has done his work at the OhioHealth Neuroscience Center, specifically inside of the clinic space at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.

"I feel lucky to be able to do my job, for my patients in such a wonderful space, surrounded by such wonderful team members," Boster said.

But his work with patients goes beyond the few times a  year he sees them.

"I might see them 3 or 4 times a year, but they have MS the other 361 days of the year too," Boster told Ken Gordon of The Columbus Dispatch.

That's why Dr. Boster has become very active within the social media world. With a Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube account, he works hard to communicate, to teach, and to add something else to their daily lives, to know where to turn to for help, and daily questions about this disease.

"If I'm going to help you be the most awesome version of you possible despite having MS, I can't only provide education four times a year," Boster said.

And his audience is growing. For some of his more then 200 videos he's produced, some have 10's of thousands of views.  And he knows there are many who are just finding him for the very first time.

While he's not sure he can keep that pace, he does intend on continuing to do what he loves, sharing knowledge, fighting that battle side-by-side with patients, and reaching them any way that he can.
