Delaware Gazette: Ironman Year 2

After a successful year one for Ironman 70.3 Ohio in Delaware County last year, the event is back with hopes of being bigger and better.

OhioHealth is also back as the presenting sponsor for the event that brings world-class athletes and their families to central Ohio.

The event was lauded by athletes as one of their favorite running courses in the Ironman series.

Once again OhioHealth will be on-site providing medical care for the athletes.

“We at OhioHealth, and specifically OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital, are very excited about IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio this weekend. As the presenting sponsor again in 2017, continuing our commitment of being a dedicated member of this great community, we know a successful event for the city of Delaware and Delaware County is a win for everyone involved," OhioHealth Grady Memorial President Steve Bunyard told the Delaware Gazette.

"IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio in 2016 was a great start to this sponsorship for OhioHealth. The feedback was tremendous. Athletes and their families were excited about the time spent here, with the medical care they received from our team, and we are looking forward to what this year brings. Being on-site the day of the event, with the best care for these world-class athletes, along with the service from dozens of OhioHealth volunteers makes this a perfect fit for what we do at Grady. Improving the health of those we serve is not only something we live every single day for those in Delaware and the surrounding communities, but it’s also true for those athletes and their families from around the country and the world, who might be in our community for only a few days," Bunyard added.

The race is set for Sunday, July 30th. To learn more about Ironman 70.3 Ohio, click here.
