Vizient, Inc. Elects Dave Blom, President and CEO of OhioHealth as Chair of Board of Directors


Vizient, Inc. announces that its board of directors elected David P. Blom, president and chief executive officer of OhioHealth, in Columbus, Ohio as Board Chair effective at the conclusion of the company’s June 8, 2017 stockholder meeting. Blom will remain president and CEO at OhioHealth while fulfilling his duties as Vizient Board Chair.

Blom succeeds Marna Borgstrom, chief executive officer of Yale New Haven Health in New Haven, Connecticut. Borgstrom, who served as chair since 2014, will continue as a member of Vizient’s board. Ann Madden Rice, chief executive officer of UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California will continue serving as the Vice-Chair of the board.

Blom joined OhioHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit family of hospitals and health services, in 1983 and was named President and CEO of OhioHealth in March 2002. He has a track record of achievement with a solid understanding of complex issues facing health care delivery. He has expertise in leading strategic initiatives, managing and developing human capital, improving profitability, and improving quality of care and customer experience. In 2015, Blom was appointed by Congress to serve as a member of the Veterans Affairs Commission on Care. OhioHealth’s 29,000 associates, 3,600 physicians and 3,000 volunteers serve a 48-county area in the state.
