Dublin Villager: OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital Turns 10

It has been 10 years since the doors to OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital opened.

"OhioHealth had owned the land that the hospital sits on for many years before we decided to build a hospital here,” Cheryl Herbert, the first president of Dublin Methodist Hospital said to Sarah Sole of The Dublin Villager. "In building from the ground up, OhioHealth focused on creating a healing environment for patients, maximizing elements that help people heal faster, decrease stress, and prevent infection, she said.

Dublin Methodist is the second largest employer for the city of Dublin. Over the years, the hospital has grown in the number of services offered. While new options have been added, there are things that have been in place since day one that have increased too. Now, more than 2,000 babies are delivered at Dublin Methodist.

“We sit as a front door to this community for health care,” hospital president Steve Bunyard said to The Dublin Villager. "I'm so proud of what we have built here in Dublin, and the amazing connection between our associates and patients,” Bunyard added. “To have earned the trust of the community, to be a strong partner here in Dublin, and to improve the health of those we serve is such a privilege. We have great people at Dublin Methodist Hospital and are certainly excited not only about the last 10 years, but looking forward to the next 10.”
