New Physician Provides More Cancer Care Options for Morrow County Community

Sarwar_Shakir_printA new physician at OhioHealth Morrow County Hospital is providing more cancer care options for patients in the community. Shakir Sarwar, MD, will begin seeing patients July 21st. His arrival opens up a variety of new cancer treatment plans for patients in the area, allowing them to get the care they need close to home.

Dr. Sarwar specializes in treating cancer and blood disorders. He will evaluate and treat hematology and cancer patients, as well as oversee follow-up care. Bone marrow biopsies will also be offered at Morrow County Hospital, as well as any cancer-related imaging or lab work. Patients requiring infusion treatment or radiation oncology services will be referred to the Marion Cancer Center at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital.

“I’m excited to join Morrow County Hospital and care for cancer and hematology patients in the area,” said Dr. Sarwar. “Being able to meet patients where they are is important, and I look forward to making specialized care more accessible and convenient.”
