OhioHealth Continues to Invest in Marion County by Opening New Heart & Vascular, Primary Care Clinic

OhioHealth Physician Group, in partnership with OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, has invested a total of $8.7 million to renovate and relocate two clinics, one for Heart & Vascular and the other for Primary Care. The clinics are both located at 278 Barks Road W and they opened on March 18, 2024. The services will now operate under one roof, making care convenient and accessible for residents of Marion County and surrounding areas.

The 28,000 sq ft OhioHealth owned non-clinical building, formerly known as the Office and Conference Center, will increase OhioHealth’s capacity to provide care to more area patients. For patients, the clinics are conveniently located, and they have access to a wider array of services.

OhioHealth’s multi-million-dollar investment to renovate the medical office building at Barks Road is part of an ongoing mission to recruit physicians, especially in primary care. The new space will allow OhioHealth to recruit and bring in new providers.

“This project is necessary for the continued growth of the area by adding additional physicians and continuing to provide local/regional imaging, cardio-oncology, interventional, electrophysiology and vascular services for both Marion and surrounding counties,” said Kyle Feldmann, MD

The investment into the space included an interior renovation, a parking lot expansion and exterior building upgrades. The interior features a 10,000 sq ft. Heart & Vascular Clinic with 12 providers and 27 exam rooms, as well as a 6,500 square foot Primary Care Clinic with 16 exam rooms. There are plans for the Primary Care Clinic to grow to have four physicians and two advance practice providers. In addition, there will be an Imaging Clinic for Heart & Vascular Services with five cardiac testing rooms.

“This is a great example of OhioHealth’s continued investment in the vision and strategy of healthcare in Marion,” said Kim Crabtree, practice manager. “We are bringing value to the community and helping to keep care local for patients in and around Marion County.”

The renovation at Barks Road was completed in March. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Wednesday April 10th at 4:30 p.m. at the clinic located at 278 Barks Road W, Marion.
