OhioHealth Names New President of OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital

Smith_Cherie-13-1Today OhioHealth announced Cherie Smith, PhD, MBA, RN, as the new president of OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital. Smith will begin her new role on March 18.

“I am incredibly humbled to be selected for this position to lead such a talented team,” Cherie Smith, PhD, MBA, RN, said, “I am excited to continue diligently working on our current initiatives while eyeing new opportunities to support our OhioHealth team to provide exceptional care to our patients and communities.”

Smith joined OhioHealth in January of 2022 and has served as the chief nursing office and vice president of patient services since that time at both Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial.

 Before joining the organization, Smith served as assistant vice president of nursing and patient care services for Iredell Health System in Statesville, North Carolina. For more than 10 years prior, Smith led clinical programs, operations, nursing practice and patient care services at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Health System, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the Mercy San Juan Medical Center, in Carmichael, California. She originally began her career in the United States Air Force where she served in various nurse and leadership roles.

“My foundational leadership experience was gained from my years in the military where I led diverse teams,” Smith said, “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to develop and lead hospital teams in multiple organizations.  These experiences have prepared me to handle complex challenges associated with hospital organizations and have prepared me for this role.”   

Outside of her career, Smith loves spending time with her family, traveling and enjoying live entertainment.
