OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital has named Charles “Chuck” Fisher, DO, as its new Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs. In this role, Dr. Fisher will oversee patient care and safety outcomes and work to advance high-quality healthcare while strengthening community engagement.

Dr. Fisher has been employed by OhioHealth for 13 years. For the past six years, he has led the O’Bleness Family Medicine Residency program in Athens, helping to grow the graduate medical education program and mentor future physicians.

“Dr. Fisher’s deep roots in the Athens community, his clinical expertise and his commitment to patient-centered care make him an exceptional leader for O’Bleness,” said LeeAnn Lucas-Helber, president of O’Bleness Hospital. “He understands rural healthcare and has a proven track record of building teams and programs that truly make a difference for patients and families.”

“Growing up in rural Ohio and now calling Athens home has given me a deep appreciation for what people need from their hospital,” said Fisher. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our care teams to support patient safety, high-quality care and strong community partnerships that help keep care local.”

Outside of work, Dr. Fisher enjoys coaching his children in youth football and baseball and exploring the hiking trails of southeastern Ohio. He began in his new role on February 2.
