As OhioHealth prepares for a potential COVID-19 patient surge, nurses at OhioHealth are rolling up their sleeves and going all in.

“It’s part of the job,” Jennifer Wenger, RN, a nurse at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital told 10TV in a recent interview for their "Not All Heroes Wear Capes" special. “We signed up to be here. We signed up to help our citizens of Columbus.”

Instead of feeling scared, both Wenger and her colleague Staci Leitnaker, RN feel inspired instead.

“I don’t think a lot of us are scared. I think we’re ready,” said Leitnaker. “There are signs outside the hospital, and I know I come into work sometimes and I’m kind of nervous. But then I see these signs and motivations and it gives me chills. I know I’m coming to work to make a difference.”

Both Wenger and Leitnaker are among the thousands of frontline healthcare workers helping care for patients with COVID-19. But instead of capes, it’s critical PPE for these healthcare heroes.
