ABC6/FOX28: Military medics revolutionizing trauma medicine at home

In addition to serving our county abroad, members of the military are also saving lives at home by sharing techniques with medics and physicians stateside, such as applying a tourniquet or putting an IV directly into a 

bone (instead of a vein).  One of those techniques was recently used to save a patient brought to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. ABC6/FOX28 reporter Ben Garbarek spoke with patient Toby Smith, as well as Grant physicians Shay O'Mara, MD and Brad Raetzke, MD, about how these techniques are saving lives.
