"Bundled with Love" Helps Clothe Central Ohio Newborns in Need

A mother only wants what’s best for her child, but sometimes needs like clothing, books and toys for her baby can be hard to come by. Fortunately, people like Ashlee Lawson are here to lend a helping hand.

Lawson founded Bundled with Love, a nonprofit organization that provides newborns throughout central Ohio with new and moderately used clothes and other items..

“Our mission is to provide clothing and baby basics up to a child’s first year of life in the Columbus area,” Lawson said. “We partner with organizations like OhioHealth and other hospitals to provide families who are looking for additional resources as they start their families.”

Lawson recently made her first donation of items to the OhioHealth Wellness on Wheels mobile unit. Bundled with Love’s efforts will have a positive impact on the central Ohio community said Ann Snider, annual giving manager at the OhioHealth Foundation.

“When Ashlee shared this project with me, I was so impressed with her passion to give back, specifically to pregnant women in financial hardship so they could provide a good start for their newborns,” Snider told ThisWeek News.

The Wellness on Wheels program offers prenatal and postnatal care to those who may not have access to those healthcare services. Sonia Booker, MSN, RN, clinical manager for community outreach at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, understands the importance of giving mothers and their newborns the best care possible, but resources can be sometimes hard to come by.

“Providing a year’s worth of clothing to these infants goes so far in helping families during that crucial first year of their baby’s life,” she told ThisWeek News.
