Columbus Blue Jackets, OhioHealth announce multi-year renewal of corporate partnership

CBJ Mobile Tour presented by OhioHealth features new co-branded, fully customized interactive vehicle

The Columbus Blue Jackets and OhioHealth announced today the multi-year renewal of the corporate partnership between the National Hockey League club and the Columbus-based, nationally recognized healthcare organization. OhioHealth has been affiliated with the Blue Jackets since the club’s inaugural 2000-01 season.

The newest component of the enhanced partnership is a 50’ promotional truck that has been co-branded and customized to convert into a fully furnished lounge area where fans can gather at CBJ Mobile Tour stops across Ohio. The truck is equipped with a 26’ retractable awning that comes off the side of the vehicle and covers the space that is appointed with custom flooring, couches, high-top tables and chairs, three 60” televisions and replica CBJ locker stalls. Additional attractions include a skee-puck game and video gaming consoles. The truck also features a complete sound system.

“We’re excited to continue our longstanding partnership with the Columbus Blue Jackets and help bring the CBJ Mobile Tour to communities throughout Ohio,” said Sue Jablonski, senior vice president and chief communications officer, OhioHealth. “Encouraging people to lead an active, healthy lifestyle is central to our mission and we’re thrilled that the Mobile Tour combines our love of the Blue Jackets with our commitment to improving the health of those we serve.”

“OhioHealth has always been part of the Blue Jackets corporate family and we’re thrilled to continue and expand our partnership,” added Blue Jackets Director of Corporate Development Jessica Smith. “The idea behind the CBJ Mobile Tour component and all of our CBJ-OhioHealth collaborations is to get our respective messages out there together, and this one offers the added benefit of grassroots outreach across Ohio.”

During CBJ Mobile Tour events across Ohio, the vehicle will be positioned alongside a street hockey rink where kids are invited to play. At each stop, CBJ Mobile Tour attendees will have the opportunity to score giveaway items, courtesy of OhioHealth, and register to win prizes ranging from autographed memorabilia to a grand prize package of four Red Line Lounge lower bowl tickets (including dinner for four) to the Blue Jackets 2016-17 opening-night game against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, October 13. In addition to the activation around CBJ Mobile Tour, the Blue Jackets-OhioHealth partnership includes a host of in-arena, digital, broadcast and traditional assets and maintains presenting sponsorship of Blue Jackets training camp in September as well as the club’s 5th Line 5K race during the upcoming season. The renewal also continues name entitlement to the OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks, which encompass the Blue Jackets’ official practice facility, the OhioHealth Ice Haus. OhioHealth’s partnership further includes support of the Blue Jackets Foundation’s signature fundraisers with participation in the annual golf classic and CannonBall as well as presenting sponsorship of Columbus’ Hockey Fights Cancer game night.
