Columbus Dispatch: OhioHealth Surgeon Relies on Deaf Brother to Assist in the Operating Room

Tim and Dr. Ray Tesner have spent 35 years working together in the operating rooms of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center bound by brotherly love and system of communicating honed by decades of unspoken work together.

The brothers, Ray, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, and his brother Tim, a surgical technician who is deaf, have been in so many surgeries together that Tim often hands the doctor the tool he needs before Ray asks for it.
