Columbus Oncology & Hematology and OhioHealth Collaborating for Cancer Care in Northwest Central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus Oncology & Hematology and OhioHealth are thrilled to be working together to develop a collaborative model of care for cancer patients in northwest central Ohio.

This integrated approach to cancer care will offer a variety of services and resources under one roof as patients go through their cancer journey. The planned 30,000 square foot building will be located in Dublin on Perimeter Drive, across from the OhioHealth Perimeter Drive offices (those offices are located at 6805 Perimeter Drive.) The building will be owned by Columbus Oncology, with OhioHealth leasing 15,000 square feet of space.

“Columbus Oncology & Hematology Associates welcomes another opportunity to continue our long-term collaboration with OhioHealth in caring for patients with cancer and blood disorders in central Ohio,” said Nse Ntukidem, MD, president, Columbus Oncology & Hematology.

“OhioHealth is excited to be working with Columbus Oncology to bring many cancer services under one roof for patients in northwest central Ohio,” said Praveen Dubey, MD, vice president, OhioHealth Cancer Services. “OhioHealth and Columbus Oncology have a strong, long-standing relationship and this collaboration will bring two strong healthcare providers together in a new way to provide the highest quality care, excellent service, and easy access, all essential for seamless cancer care”

All Columbus Oncology physicians are medical staff members at OhioHealth and most are MD Anderson Cancer Network® certified.

The Columbus Oncology practice at 810 Jasonway Avenue in Columbus includes OhioHealth imaging on-site and both will remain open.

Services

Patients who live and work in and around Dublin will have easier access to the following services and resources:

  • Care Navigation
  • Genetic Counseling/Precision Medicine
  • Infusion
  • Imaging
  • Lab Services
  • Physician Practices
  • Research and Clinical Trials

“The cancer journey is not a simple one, and we want to do what we can to make it a little easier,” said Dr. Dubey. “Here, patients will be able to come to one building for many aspects of their cancer care, creating ease and a sense of familiarity.”

“For 37 years, Columbus Oncology has been in the forefront of excellent cancer care in the community,” said Dr. Ntukidum. “We are extremely excited about the new center and what it will mean for patients.”

Construction and Opening

Construction on the building will begin in early 2020, with an anticipated opening of early 2021. The general contractor for the project is Daimler Group. The architect is Andrews Architects.

The cost of the project is estimated at $9.4 million. OhioHealth is contributing $5 million towards the total cost for building and equipment.
