Community Event Brings Easter Cheer to Families, Patients at OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital
Easter came early at OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital, where families, associates and community members gathered for a special evening celebration.
On Tuesday March 31, the hospital lobby was filled with smiles, as kids had the chance to meet the Easter Bunny, snap photos and take home a special holiday treat.
“Having events at OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital, like we had the Easter event, within the community it builds the trust and the connection,” said Julie Heffner, Van Wert Hospital Surgery Inventory Coordinator.
But the celebration didn’t stop there. The Easter Bunny made rounds throughout the hospital, surprising associates at work and visiting patients in their rooms.
“It makes patients not feel as isolated while they’re here, and it gives them a sense of normalcy,” said Heffner.
For patients spending the holiday in the hospital, like Betty Hudson, those small moments can make a big impact. Hudson said it was a nice reminder that a bit of fun can make even challenging days brighter.
