Delaware Gazette: IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio Gets Good Reviews

The athletes have spoken, and IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio, presented by OhioHealth, is getting great reviews.

In a recent survey of participants, runners rated the course in Delaware County in the top three in the entire world.

The survey is made up of those who entered IRONMAN competitions around the globe.

In one response, a runner shared about the course in Delaware County.

“Really liked the run course overall. Knew it was mostly downhill for the first three parts of the loop, so wasn’t surprised that the last leg had some climbs, but all in all, interesting, relatively shaded and well supported,” said one athlete.

The success of an event like this can be felt from an economic standpoint, but also in a feel of true community togetherness.

"“To be chosen by athletes as one of the best events shows that with all the teamwork and community spirit to make it happen, we got it right," said OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital President Steve Bunyard. "This event brings pride and exposure to Delaware County, central Ohio, and the entire state. It also moves our mission forward, to improve the health of those we serve through participating in healthy, active lifestyle choices. The inaugural event was such a success, and we can’t wait to see everyone this summer for year two,” he said.

The second event is set for July 30, 2017, with registration already well underway.
