Local Dublin Family Commits $1 Million to OhioHealth Foundation for OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital Expansion

Cindy and David Probst3Longtime Dublin residents, David Probst, a dedicated member of the OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital Development Board, and his wife Cindy, have generously committed $1 million to the OhioHealth Foundation. This gift supports the expansion project of Dublin Methodist, the largest in the hospital’s history.

“We have called Dublin home for 40 years and have watched this community grow. It is our belief that having access to good healthcare is important to everyone,” the Probst family said. “The reason we were drawn to OhioHealth is its large network of hospitals located throughout the state of Ohio, providing healthcare to a significant number of Ohioans.”

“David and Cindy Probst have been dedicated philanthropic supporters of Dublin Methodist for more than a decade through generous participation in the OhioHealth Foundation Invitational, the creation of the Probst Family Nursing Scholarship and the Probst Family Endowment for Melanoma Care for the Dublin Cancer Center,” Karen Morrison, president, OhioHealth Foundation and senior vice president, OhioHealth, said. “The couple has seen firsthand the impact that Dublin Methodist has had in meeting the healthcare needs of Dublin’s growing and diverse community and were inspired to make this gift commitment so that Dublin Methodist can continue to provide exceptional care for all.”

The expansion will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity, adding over 187,000 square feet of new space to accommodate more than double the current patient volume.

“As a former development board chair, and now board member, David has always been an ardent supporter of Dublin Methodist,” Cherie Smith, PhD, MBA, RN, president of OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital said. “This gift will make a meaningful impact on the lives of so many, and I am grateful to the Probst family for their generosity and philanthropic passion for our hospital.”

“Over the years, it has been inspiring to see how OhioHealth, and especially Dublin Methodist Hospital, has taken care of our family, friends and neighbors and has grown to be a part of our community,” the Probst family said. “We have been fortunate and want to ensure that future generations can continue to access the same clinical expertise and medical innovations. Supporting this expansion project and the increase of available services will help make this possible.”  Cindy and David Probst7

This generous gift from the Probst family exemplifies the powerful collaborations that strengthen the community's foundation. OhioHealth is deeply grateful for their partnership, which is instrumental in advancing its mission.
