Medical Minute: Giving Tuesday

As the season of giving arrives, many are taking time to reflect on the impact of philanthropy, no matter the amount.

“This time of year invites all of us to give a little something back,” said Simon Bisson, vice president of philanthropy, OhioHealth Foundation. “It helps fuel our mission, provide additional resources and programs to support the exceptional care we provide every day.”

Bisson said contributions of any size help fuel programs, resources and scholarships that strengthen care teams and expand services. Donors can also designate gifts to the sites or programs most meaningful to them, ensuring every dollar goes exactly where intended.

For Craig and Heidi White, giving back has been personal for more than 20 years. Their commitment began after a family member received critical care at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in 2001. That care had a lasting impact, touching their family in ways that inspired them to support the trauma program for years to come.

“It makes us both feel remarkable,” Heidi said. “We’re able to continue the gratitude that we had, past being in the hospital. We know that we are helping programs within the hospital and helping other families that were going through what we were going through.”

“I think of our family, our next generation and anyone these gifts can continue to assist,” Craig added.

They shared that supporting healthcare benefits everyone in the community and helps provide critical care to those who need it today. “Give whatever you can give. Care impacts all of us.”
