OhioHealth is welcoming a new family doctor to its’ OhioHealth Physician Group office in Mount Gilead, Ohio. Ciara Catalano, DO, began seeing patients at 900 Meadow Drive in September of this year.

In an interview with The Morrow County Sentinel, Dr. Catalano told a reporter she’s a big proponent of preventive care, rather than waiting to treat an illness or complication. Some of the healthy habits she encourages include sleeping eight hours a day, exercising, eating well, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol drinking.

“To give advice, it’s important to take my own advice,” said Dr. Catalano. In order to stay healthy, Dr. Catalano prioritizes sleep and regularly weight trains. She says she hopes to be a resource for athletes and coaches in the community.

Along with family medicine, Dr. Catalano has a special interest in women’s health.

Dr. Catalano received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. She later went to Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio for her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
