OhioHealth and The Health Plan Extend Coverage for Southeastern Ohio

OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center has reached an agreement with The Health Plan, bringing back in-network coverage for Medicare Advantage and Commercial members. The agreement extends coverage for The Health Plan members to all OhioHealth facilities and OhioHealth Physician Group providers and clinics.

"We’re pleased to partner with The Health Plan to ensure that their members can access the services of our many physicians and specialists right here in southeastern Ohio,” said Brett Kim, OhioHealth Physician Group vice president. “We are also excited to expand access for The Health Plan’s members to the entire OhioHealth system of hospitals, clinics, providers and physicians across our 50-county service area.”

Effective May 1, The Health Plan members were able to access a comprehensive range of medical services offered by OhioHealth. This agreement followed extensive negotiations between the two organizations, highlighting their mutual dedication to improving access to healthcare for Ohio residents.

The agreement addressed the transition that occurred when The Health Plan moved out of network after Superior Med became OhioHealth Physician Group earlier this year. While this change initially affected The Health Plan's coverage, OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center remained in-network throughout.

This milestone marks a step forward in ensuring comprehensive healthcare coverage for residents of southeastern Ohio. With OhioHealth’s network now accessible to The Health Plan members, individuals can benefit from a variety of medical services within their community.

OhioHealth’s services and specialties available in the Cambridge community include Medical and Radiation Oncology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Sleep Disorders, Orthopedics, Foot and Ankle Care, Sports Medicine, Cardiology, Primary Care, Wound Care, and Palliative Care.
