OhioHealth Celebrates Morrow County Hospital as 16th Full Member Hospital

OhioHealth celebrated Morrow County Hospital Wednesday with an event to commemorate it becoming OhioHealth’s 16^th full-member hospital.

Dozens of OhioHealth associates lined the hospital’s hallways to celebrate and clap in their new colleagues as they reported for work. OhioHealth leaders were also on hand to meet their new team members and distribute desserts throughout the hospital.

“This is such an exciting milestone for Morrow County Hospital,” said Morrow County Hospital President Mike Hyek. “This hospital has achieved some incredible things over the course of its 70-year history serving the community, including being recognized as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the country. As we officially join the OhioHealth family, our associates are excited to have the resources and support of a large health care system.”

Before the celebration, OhioHealth leaders, Hyek, and a former Morrow County Hospital Board Member spoke at a community program. Speakers emphasized the closeness between providers and patients in rural hospitals, and the bright future ahead.

“We’re looking forward to providing this community with excellent care as close to home as possible,” said Chris Clinton, OhioHealth’s Regional Market President. “As we start this next chapter, we will do everything we can to support our new colleagues while providing them opportunities to learn and grow.”

Before becoming a full member OhioHealth hospital, Morrow County Hospital was managed by OhioHealth for forty years.
