OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Names Lindsey Osting President

OhioHealth Doctors Hospital announced Lindsey Osting, MS, BSN, RN, has been named president. Osting replaces Mike Reichfield who will retire in late August 2021.

Osting is Doctors Hospital’s first female president, joining other newly named OhioHealth female presidents in Athens and Hardin counties.

Osting has been a committed operational leader and member of the Doctors Hospital executive leadership team since 2016. With a focus on patient care, quality outcomes and value, she has led large-scale strategic initiatives achieving staffing efficiencies and cost reduction for patients and the organization.

“This is a wonderful organization, and a fantastic team at Doctors Hospital,” Osting said. “As the former chief nursing officer, I have had the great opportunity to have a front-row seat to some of the best care happening in the state of Ohio. As a leader, you must be ready to serve and do what is best for the team. I’ve been able to work side-by-side with Mike Reichfield for years and have seen how much of a difference he has made. I have learned so much from him, and will continue to elevate this hospital, team, and community as he has.”

Osting has a personal passion for servant leadership. She has a proven record of engaging associates, leaders, and physicians at all levels. This was never more apparent than when she quickly stepped up to take on responsibilities outside of her role to support the system through COVID-19, while ensuring the nursing staff at Doctors Hospital was still supported.

She has served in several leadership roles during her time at OhioHealth including director of Inpatient Services at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital and senior director of Nursing Operations at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Osting is married to her husband Brad, and they are raising two children, ages 23 and 13.

As Osting moves into her new role, long-time OhioHealth Doctors Hospital president Mike Reichfield will retire in late August 2021.

Reichfield has been a member of the OhioHealth family since 2007 and has more than 40 years of leadership experience. In addition to his role as president of Doctors Hospital, he has served as an accountable executive for OhioHealth Joint Ventures.

During his time with OhioHealth, Reichfield helped create a strong culture where people truly care for our patients and each other. His leadership enabled a financial and operational turnaround of the hospital, as well as expansion of numerous services, modernization efforts and outpatient expansion. This enabled surgical growth and recruitment of many physicians and faculty.

“I have really enjoyed my time with the OhioHealth Joint Ventures team, and at Doctors Hospital,” Reichfield said. “While providing exceptional care is our top priority at Doctors Hospital, our teams are so much more to our patients and each other. We have built a family, and a culture I believe is second-to-none. Being part of our community and making sure our team on the west side of Columbus is too, has been so important to me as a leader. Additionally, I have watched Lindsey grow so much in her role as chief nursing officer at Doctors, and I am more than confident that she is the right choice and will do amazing work as president.”

Reichfield has always been service minded and is very active in the community, serving locally with Hilliard Rotary, Westland Area Business Association, Centers for Osteopathic Research and Education and nationally as a board member of the Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation.

In retirement, he plans to spend time with his family and new granddaughter. He also plans to travel and give back to the community.
