OhioHealth Highlights Iconic Mansfield Images in New Mural

The Wallscape is a Celebration of the Community Returning to Business

OhioHealth’s new wallscape, located in downtown Mansfield’s Historic Carrousel District, celebrates the reopening of tourism and local businesses in Mansfield and Richland County. The mural features many of the community’s iconic organizations that deliver their best in order to help residents and businesses thrive in Mansfield and Richland County.

OhioHealth partnered with an artist to recreate iconic local buildings and incorporate them into a unique streetscape. A time-lapse video shows the mural drawing of Renaissance Theatre, Kingwood Center Gardens, Richland Carrousel Park, OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with Mansfield Fire Department, Ohio State Reformatory, and Richland Area Chamber and Economic Development, as well as the Air National Guard’s Spirit of Mansfield, which is flying over the streetscape.

“During times of social distancing, the importance of our community treasures, and their impact on our life and culture have become even clearer. We are excited to be able to highlight a handful of our community partners,” said Vinson Yates, president of OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and OhioHealth Shelby Hospital.

At OhioHealth, the support of local nonprofits is part of our culture. In the past year, OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and OhioHealth Shelby Hospital have contributed over $250,000 to local nonprofit partners to improve the health of our community.

“This is a great tribute to many key community assets here in Richland County by OhioHealth. We thank them for including the beautiful and historic Chamber building in this project! We will be happy to see all of these amazing places open again very soon,” said Jodie Perry, president and CEO of Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development.

The wallscape, which faces north and can be viewed from the intersection of North Main and 4th Streets in Mansfield, was installed by local billboard company, Lind Media Company.
