OhioHealth Hospice Helps To Find Peace Through Grief
Losing a loved one is never easy. The OhioHealth bereavement team makes it a little bit more manageable for families grappling with loss.
With the aim of bringing people together through shared experiences and feelings. The OhioHealth Kobacker House OhioHealth Kobacker House team encourages young people that their superpower can push them through hard times.
“What we really want to show them is that everybody, all of us, have some kind of superpower,” said Pamela Gompf, manager of OhioHealth Bereavement Services.
Nobody grieves the same way, which is why the theme of this event was exceptionally powerful. Sometimes kids do not know how to pinpoint what their strength is and often doubt that they really have one.
Things can range from the simple.
“Being brave when bad things happen to you or putting kindness out there in the world”.
To sometimes finding ways to navigate feelings of grief and uncertainty more in-depth.
The bereavement team meets with families who have lost someone and offers 13 months of connection to help them through their loss. This event fostered community support and showcased different types of grief counseling through the lens of a lighthearted theme.
“They’re just wonderful people that love what they do,” Gompf said.
This event further proves that these individuals are driven by compassion, and they want to help others through difficult times.
