OhioHealth Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals Honor Donor Legacies With Donate Life Ceremony

OhioHealth Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals partnered with Lifeline of Ohio to host flag raising ceremonies this week to honor organ, eye, and tissue donors, as well as their recipients and families. It’s part of an effort to honor donor legacies during National Donate Life Month.

According to Lifeline of Ohio, Mansfield Hospital cared for and supported four organ donors, ten tissue donors, and their families last year. As a result of those selfless donors, eight lives were saved and many more were healed.

Also in 2025, Mansfield Hospital cared for 46 placenta donors, helping Lifeline of Ohio reach the milestone of 3,000 placentas donated through its program.

“It’s been an incredible Donate Life Month, and we are extremely grateful to our hospital partners for holding meaningful events that honor donors, support their families and bring awareness to organ, eye and tissue donation,” said Andrew Mullins, CEO of Lifeline of Ohio.

Mansfield Hospital Nurse Allison Reidenbach also spoke at the ceremony, sharing her personal connection to organ donation. Her husband gave a living donor transplant to her brother. She also donated her placenta after giving birth to twin girls in 2023.

The event concluded with a prayer, a moment of silence and the raising of the Donate Life flag.
