OhioHealth Marion General Hospital Partners with Nationwide Children's Hospital

MARION, Ohio - OhioHealth Marion General Hospital has announced a partnership with Nationwide Children's Hospital to improve access and enhance the clinical care of pediatric patients. This partnership will keep appropriate pediatric patients local, provide education, technology, knowledge, and support to Marion's community hospital, and enhance transitions of care. Nationwide Children's has partnerships with many OhioHealth system hospitals.

"By providing advanced training for physicians, nursing and allied health professionals, we can ensure that we are providing the best care for pediatric patients at Marion General," says Joy Bischoff, Chief Nursing Officer for Marion General Hospital. "Nationwide Children's Hospital is known for excellence in pediatric care and we are proud to collaborate with them."

"We are pleased to partner with Marion General to enhance pediatric care in the Marion area and surrounding counties," says Darrell Mosby, vice president of regional development at Nationwide Children's Hospital. "We will extend our pediatric expertise to the community by working closely with the hospital and local pediatricians to enhance care in Marion. Together, we can improve the health of the neonatal and pediatric communities we serve."

The partnership began in January with an initial training session, Getting to Know Kids, with several members of the Marion General nursing and respiratory therapy staff attending. Additional training sessions are planned throughout the year.
