OhioHealth Medical Minute: Arachnoid Cysts
This week, Ohio State University head football coach Urban Meyer talked to multiple media outlets on some issues he has been dealing with. On occasion, Meyer could be seen dealing with what appeared to be pain on the sideline. This week, Meyer's personal physician released a statement to Cleveland.com that says in part,
"The past four years, we've been working closely with Coach Meyer to monitor and manage the symptoms that have risen from his enlarged congenital arachnoid cyst. This includes aggressive headaches, which have particularly flared up the past two years."
For many, hearing about something called arachnoid cyst raised questions as to what that is, what impact it can have, and what the outlook is for someone who has it.
Dr. Geoffrey Eubank is the chief of general neurology at OhioHealth. In this OhioHealth Medical Minute, he explains what an arachnoid cyst is, its symptoms and how one is treated. Press play on the video above to watch the interview with Dr. Eubank.
