OhioHealth Recognized Nationally for Diversity and Inclusion Among Top Hospitals and Health Systems

OhioHealth announced today it has been recognized nationally for its efforts around building and growing a culture of diversity and inclusion by DiversityInc.

DiversityInc is considered the gold standard in the U.S. for assessing companies for diversity, equity and inclusion. Their mission is to bring education and clarity to the business benefits of diversity.

Companies on this list demonstrate best practices in talent pipeline, talent development, leadership, commitment and supplier diversity.

“As the second largest employer in central Ohio,” said Qiana Williams, vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer at OhioHealth, “with more than 30,000 associates system-wide, it is essential that we apply our very best efforts to ensure a diverse and inclusive culture and we are proud of that.”

“This recognition is not only an honor,” she continued, “but is also validation that our efforts are working, from elevating Inclusion as a core value to our work to ensure that our workforce reflects our communities. And through our Business Resource Groups, Diversity and Inclusion Councils and many other initiatives across the system, we have been able to truly listen and make a difference recognizing and appreciating our diverse communities. We know there is more work to do, but we are grateful for this incredible recognition.”

“Leaders of DiversityInc top companies understand that nurturing an inclusive environment where everyone has a sense of belonging drives quality, success and results, especially during challenging times,” said Carolynn Johnson, CEO of DiversityInc.

DiversityInc results are empirically driven and based on 2019 company-submitted data in six key areas: 1) Leadership Accountability, 2) Human Capital Diversity Metrics, 3) Talent Programs, 4) Workforce Practices, 5) Supplier Diversity and 6) Philanthropy.
