Orthopedic Surgeon Joins OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians

Brent Mellis, DO, has joined OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians and the orthopedic practice of Drs. Aaron Fritz, Bernard Nowacki, Antonio Rosario, and Robert Crowell. Dr. Mellis offers expertise in a range of orthopedic conditions, including total joint replacements; total joint revisions; joint preservation surgery for hips and knees; and reconstructive surgery for knees and shoulders.

Dr. Mellis practices a broad range of general orthopedics, specializing in minimally invasive surgery for the hip and knee. He is trained in the use of computer-assisted surgery for total joint replacement, joint preservation of the hip and knee, unicompartmental replacement for the knee, and MAKOplasty-assisted surgery. 

"I'm excited by the opportunity to increase the joint replacement and sports medicine presence at Marion General," said Dr. Mellis. "This will allow patients to receive high quality orthopedic care, including the latest advancements, close to home." 

Dr. Mellis completed his undergraduate degree and medical school at Michigan State University. He also completed his residency through one of Michigan State’s community outreach hospitals in Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills.
