This Week News: Kobacker Expansion

8 Additional Rooms To Serve Patients And Families

Last month OhioHealth Kobacker House, the only stand-alone inpatient hospice treatment facility in central Ohio, opened 8 new rooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 32. Kobacker House cares for hospice patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365-days a year in a comfortable home-like setting.

"More than 6 years ago, as the OhioHealth Kobacker house first opened, we made a promise to complete this expansion project, with one 8 room expansion," Tina Null, director of OhioHealth Hospice said.

OhioHealth Kobacker House has helped thousands of patients to find peace, comfort and dignity through medical, emotional, and spiritual support.

"Thanks to the generosity of so many businesses, families, and others in this amazing community, we were able to raise the funds to fulfill that promise," Null added.

Since the Kobacker House moved to its new location more than 6 years ago, teams there have worked with families during their time at the home, and with the families after a death through bereavement and the grieving process.

"This expansion continues our mission to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients, and their families," Null said.

In addition to the new rooms, there have been additional team members brought on to help. There are also new rooms for families to sit, a new entry for emergency crews as well.
