Walk With a Doc and Founder, OhioHealth Cardiologist David Sabgir, Demonstrate Ongoing Commitment to Heart Health

Walk with a Doc, founded by OhioHealth Cardiologist, David Sabgir, MD, recently received the prestigious National Forum Heart-Healthy and Stroke-Free Award. Dr. Sabgir was also featured in a new article on GQ sharing his expertise on lowering low-density, lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. These are two distinct honors recognizing the overall commitment to heart health.

The National Forum Heart-Healthy and Stroke-Free Award highlights Walk with a Doc's exceptional contribution to improving cardiovascular health through its innovative walking programs and health education initiatives. The award was presented virtually, back in October, at the 23rd National Forum Annual Meeting, Championing a Heart-Healthy America: Uniting Against the Leading Cause of Death.

Walk with a Doc (WWAD), founded in 2005, is a global movement with 647 volunteer-led chapters across 48 U.S. states and 40 countries. WWAD is a sustainable model that gives people a chance to boost their health through walking, learning and connecting with others.

Walk with a Doc's innovative approach not only inspires individuals to be more active but also provides an educational platform for improving heart health in a collaborative, community-centered way,” Dr. Sabgir said. “Every step we take together is a step towards a healthier heart."
