OhioHealth Associates Participate in Dublin Corporate Charity Cup

Towards the end of June, several OhioHealth associates participated in the Dublin Corporate Charity Cup held at Dublin Coffman High School and the Columbus Marriott Northwest. The OhioHealth associates participating were OhioHealth Dublin Methodist hospital associates, OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital associates, business development, print shop and the athletic trainers from across the organization. 

OhioHealth is an event partner with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

“This is a great way for our associates to get out into the community and build even stronger connections with other corporate partners and the people we serve,” Cherie Smith, President of OhioHealth Dublin Methodist and OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospitals, said

The Corporate Charity Cup is a two-day event where employees from businesses in the surrounding area can compete, cheer or volunteer to promote wellness and community involvement.

“Some events are tournaments such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball while there are many stand-alone games like trivia, home-run derby and kickball,” Sean McHenry, Associate Manager with OhioHealth Sports Medicine, said.

Nearly 1,000 professionals were involved this year, with 31 participants being OhioHealth associates. OhioHealth even won first place in the Buckeye Volleyball Club Volleyball Tournament.

“The goal of this event is to get involved in a community event which allows our associates to get out of the office and compete in friendly competition against other local businesses, all for a good cause,” McHenry said, “I feel this is important to build team morale and trust outside of the office environment while strengthening our relationship with the Dublin community.”

Not only is this event strengthening the community, growing community partners and helping build working relationships, but it is also raising money for the benefit of local non-profit organizations and Dublin City School programs.

“It is amazing to see the Dublin Corporate Charity Cup grow each year, and it is increasingly powerful to see the difference OhioHealth is making in the community as the president of Dublin Methodist Hospital,” Smith said.

Since the event on June 20-21, over $85,500 has been raised in support of the local community.

“My favorite part of this event is seeing the pride our staff takes in competing against other corporate partners,” McHenry said, “It's highly entertaining to watch everyone bring out their best weekend warrior!”

Next year’s Corporate Charity Cup is scheduled for June 12-13, 2025.
